Judaic Studies/Ivrit
Elementary students begin in first grade with beginner Chumash and a strong emphasis on solid Kriah- Hebrew reading skills. First grade students are proud recipients of their very first Siddur in festive celebration. Chumash Bereshit is taught throughout first-fourth grades, with the fourth graders proudly completing the book of Bereshit and celebrating a memorable Siyum. A Yahadut curriculum pertaining to holidays and other Judaic themes is incorporated throughout the elementary years as core Halacha is taught at an appropriate level. Special Judaic programs on Middot, Shmirat Halashon, Yediot Klaliyot and Gedoley Yisrael add additional educational opportunities for learning and personal growth. Mishna and Navi are introduced in the fourth grade, and Gemara is introduced to fifth grade boys.

Ivrit is taught daily at every grade level in an “Ivrit Only” environment. Conversational Ivrit is a key component in our classrooms, building a rich vocabulary for the student. Vital skills of correct grammar, spelling, comprehension and written expression are constantly being monitored and developed. Students engage in creative venues to enhance their language skills via shows, songs, book reports, spelling bees, and more.

General Studies
At YTE we strongly believe in a solid general studies curriculum, one which enables our students to master high level knowledge and skills in Language Arts and Math. A love of reading is cultivated, as well a hands on approach to math using a host of manipulatives. Age appropriate units are covered in both Science and Social Studies throughout the elementary years. Standardized testing is administered yearly to ensure quality of learning in all these areas. Our students have scored way above average on the national percentile.
